State Employees Argue Against Unauthorized Use Of Computer

A former employee who used his computer to access confidential tax records to help a friend of his crimes and admitted Wednesday it is permanently excluded from government. Susan Mackey, 50, Castleton, pleaded guilty today in Albany County Court to one count of computer crime and a crime of official intrusion failure, according to the consulting firm of General Andrew CUOMO .

She was charged in May with access to tax records of a former friend of man, so your friend can use this information against him in a family court battle, said the prosecutor. She looked at the so-called ex-files man, at least 87 times between 2003 and 2007, the complaint said. Mackey was a veteran of 30 years of service before that she resigned in October 2008, in the middle of the probe.

He has faced up to four years in prison and a $ 5,000 multi payable, officials said.
"The government agencies serving as a major recipient of sensitive information and should be treated with the utmost care of employees charged with its custody,"
CUOMO said in a prepared statement.
